Baja Team attending Tenn competition

The MSU Baja Race Team will be attending the 2008 Baja SAE competition taking place in Cookeville, Tennessee, from May 1 through May 3. The event is one of three annual SAE competitions and will be hosted by the Tennessee Technological University Baja SAE team this year. Over 90 teams are expected to race with MSU being two of them. The dynamic events include the hill climb or pulling event, acceleration, land maneuverability, water maneuverability, and suspension and traction. Awards will be given to the top three finishers in each of the dynamic events, in the four-hour endurance race, and for the event as a whole. The team's goal is to design and build a "single seat, off-road recreational vehicle...(that) must be safe, easily transported, easily maintained and fun to drive," according to the SAE rule book. The vehicle must be able to navigate through all types of terrain without being damaged.
