| Seungik Baek joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering as an assistant professor in 2006. He earned his PhD (’03) in mechanical engineering from Texas A&M University. Prior to coming to MSU, he was a postdoctoral fellow in biomedical engineering at Texas A&M University. His research focuses on cardiovascular mechanics and characterization of biomaterials, in particular theoretical modeling and computational simulations of cardiovascular diseases and their clinical interventions, constitutive modeling of biological tissues and biomaterials, and characterization of thermally and biochemically induced changes in material properties of soft tissues. |
