Principal Scholarly Interests:
Genetic algorithms, genetic programming, design optimization, automated design of multi-domain systems.

Honors:
2007 MSU Alumni Club of Mid-Michigan Quality in Undergraduate Teaching Award.

Biography:
Founding chair (2005) of ACM's Special Interest Group on Genetic and Evolutionary Computation (SIGEVO); now serves on its Executive Committee.

Co-founder and Vice President, Technology, of Red Cedar Technology, Inc., [LINK]
A spinoff company resulting from his research collaboration on design automation and optimization with Prof. Ron Averill (Mechanical Engineering).

Genetic Algorithms Research and Applications Group (GARAGe) is a multi-disciplinary unit interested in the application of Genetic Algorithms and Genetic Programming to real-world problems, as well as fundamental research on GA and GP. [LINK]
