Initiation Requirements

The goal of the Eta Kappa Nu Gamma Zeta Chapter is to increase enthusiasm in electrical and computer engineering. The three principles for invitation into HKN are:

  • Our Constitution requires that candidates considered for election must be in the upper one-fourth of their junior ECE class or in the upper one-third of their senior ECE class.
  • A invitee must also display a high level of character, which includes honesty, ethical behavior, sound judgment, good work ethic, and the ability to make tough decisions with integrity.
  • An invitee must also show a positive attitude with a congenial nature and the adaptability for working in harmony with all sorts of people, whether as a leader, team member, or individual contributor.

Active Member Requirements

Active members are required to uphold the goals of the organization. Eta Kappa Nu members must attend at least 80% of all general member meetings. Members are encouraged to help out in other activities, such as fundraisers, social events, and presentations.
