MSU is the national leader in study abroad participation amoung U.S. public universities for eight consecutive years and ninth in the nation for international enrollment.
Environmental and ecosystems engineers integrate physical, chemical, biological, mathematical, and engineering principles to address environmental problems. They advance fundamental understanding of human impacts on the environment and the environment's response to these impacts. Environmental and ecosystems engineers design solutions to mitigate adverse human impacts on the environment, provide safe drinking water and air, and improve the quality and quantity of our natural resources.
Undergraduate programs in environmental and ecosystems engineering are distributed across the departments of Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering, Chemical Engineering and Materials Science, and Civil and Environmental Engineering. A student may elect to complete a B.S. degree in Environmental Engineering or a focused concentration within Biosystems Engineering (Ecosystems Engineering) or Chemical Engineering (Environmental Engineering).
