High School Engineering Institute (HSEI)

Who? About 100 selected high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors
When? July 12 - 16

Program Description

HSEI has run for over 40 years. Students spend a week exploring engineering through lecture, lab and design sessions run by faculty and student assistants from our various programs. Special sessions are also presented on diversity, cooperative education, and international education opportunities. The students also visit a manufacturing facility in Michigan. The program concludes with a cookout involving students, their parents, participating faculty, student assistants and academic staff.


Who is eligible?

- GPA 3.0 or better in engineering core courses in math, chemistry, physics, or computers
- Math or science teacher reccomendation
- Essay
- Signed application
- Report cards for the year or a transcript
