Spartan Future Engineers Open House

Who? High school juniors, seniors, transfer prospective students and their families; school groups and teachers are also welcome.

When? October 11, 2008, 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Program Description

Meet with professors, tour laboratories and see scientific interactive demonstrations, learn about majors and careers, talk with current MSU students, view undergraduate research posters and projects, and much more. Also the Dean Udpa and Undergraduate Studies Associate Dean Tom Wolff, Engineering, Admissions Office, Study Abroad, Financial Aid Office, Advising Office, Guided Learning Center, the Engineering Library, Division of Engineering Computing Services, Women In Engineering, and the Diversity Programs Office will be available throughout the day.

MSU’s
College of Engineering Future Engineers Open House is an opportunity for high school juniors, and seniors and transfer prospective students in and around the state of Michigan to experience the latest that MSU has to offer in engineering.

What types of events will be at Future Engineers Open House?
A variety of interesting and exciting events can be found at the Open House. Meet with professors, tour laboratories and see scientific demonstrations, learn about majors and careers, talk with current MSU students, and much more. Also the Dean and Associate Dean of Engineering, Admissions Office, Study Abroad, Financial Aid Office, Advising Office, Guided Learning Center, the Engineering Library, Division of Engineering Computing Services, Women In Engineering, and the Diversity Programs Office will be available throughout the day.

Do I have to register?
Registration is required and easy to do! You will receive an immediate confirmation of your reservation via email.

A detailed program book, color-coded map, Choices brochure, and the new Spartan Engineering DVD will be distributed at the registration table in the Engineering lobby.

Is there a fee to attend?
There is no charge.

Can school groups attend?
Groups of high school juniors and seniors are welcome to attend. Future Engineers Open House activities are geared to this level of students, so attendance by younger student groups is not recommended. From 127, get off at the Trowbridge exit. Follow onto campus. Cross over Harrison Road. You are now on Red Cedar. The College of Engineering is located on the corner of Red Cedar and Shaw Lane.

PARKING:
Parking is FREE! For your convenience, we have reserved Parking Lot 39 and 56. Parking Lot 39 is located on Shaw Lane, directly in front of the Engineering Bldg. to the north. Parking Lot 56 is located on Red Cedar, directly to the west of the Engineering Bldg. Please inform the parking attendant's that you are here for the Future Engineers Open House.
