Annual Giving Campaigns

ALL-UNIVERSITY FACULTY AND STAFF CAMPAIGN

For 145 years, faculty, staff and retirees have been making an enormous difference at the College of Engineering. Their professional and personal commitment has created a state of excellence here at the College and across campus. The generous financial support continually shown by the College's faculty, staff and retirees is invaluable in maintaining and enhancing the caliber of its programs, research efforts, and facilities. These gifts provide funding that is needed to continue the teaching, research and outreach programs essential to MSU's land-grant mission.

The All University Campaign is an important piece of the faculty and staff fundraising efforts at the College of Engineering. Held each Spring, it is designed to focus attention on the giving opportunities available at the College and University and encourages members of the MSU family to make gifts that support their personal values and interests. COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING TELEMARKETING AND DIRECT MAIL CAMPAIGNS

The College of Engineering Annual Campaign raises annual support for the evolving needs of the College; needs that may otherwise go unmet. This campaign allows Engineering alumni to assist in preserving the high quality of an engineering education for those students who follow in their footsteps. The annual college campaign typically runs October through May.

The Annual Campaign helps assure that the College of Engineering will have the resources to respond to opportunities and needs as they arise. Funds contributed to the College through this campaign help to maintain outstanding programming, scholarships, educational materials, and research.

SENIOR CLASS GIFT CAMPAIGN

The Senior Class Campaign is intended to involve graduating students in the future of the College by raising awareness on the importance of charitable giving.

CORPORATE IN-HOUSE CAMPAIGNS

Over 50% of College of Engineering alumni work in Michigan after graduation, and many of these graduates work for corporations with matching gift programs. Matching gift programs are corporate America's way of rewarding and encouraging its employees to support higher education, and at the same time, allowing them to have a say in where the corporation's contribution dollars will go.

Because of the importance of this combination of corporate and alumni support, the corporate in-house campaign concept was established at MSU in 1981 with Ford Motor Company. These campaigns grew and, in addition to Ford Motor Company, campaigns are currently conducted annually by Detroit Edison, Dow Chemical, and Dow Corning.

Running approximately six to eight weeks annually, these campaigns utilize the company's alumni employees as volunteers to help plan and implement the individual campaigns, including the direct solicitation of their coworkers for gifts to the College of Engineering.

The financial support received by the College through corporate in-house campaigns is utilized for program enhancements, student scholarships, faculty endowments and other projects essential to the College's stature as a world-class engineering teaching facility.

PARENTS FUND

Held each spring across campus, the goal of the Parents Fund campaign is to raise funds for crucial program enhancements that might not otherwise be made. Each year, gifts from parents of the College of Engineering and other MSU students provide funding for student scholarships, library book acquisitions, and a host of other programs essential to promoting our academic excellence. Their financial assistance combined with MSU's commitment to keep tuition costs affordable helps ensure that MSU students can continue to receive a world-class education.
