Summer Semester Ends - Full and 2nd Session Thursday, 8/16 Xiaobo Tan's Smart Microsystems Research Featured Xiaobo Tan's Smart Microsystems research was featured as part of the MSU College of Engineering Summer Magnet & Related Training Institute. Tan's students, Kiyoung Kwon and Stephen Shatara, showed educators projects that Middle School students could easily work on. Shatara showed how electroactive polymers were used to create a robotic fish. Kwon demonstrated a robot model showing human emotion through voice-activation. ECE Visiting Research Assistants at the Tokyo Institute of Technology PhD candidate, Ben Jacobs, and Senior, Andrew Baczewski are currently Visiting Research Assistants at the Tokyo Institute of Technology (TITech) in Japan as a part of an NSF International Research and Education in Engineering initiative.
