Convert Commands You can convert one type of file to another on the UNIX systems using one of the commands below.
EasyCopy
EasyCopy is an application for technical professionals working with graphics. EasyCopy seamlessly integrates six modules for your use : Capture, Movie Creator, ZapView, Montage, Conversion, Printing. Capture, annotate, redline, convert an image; make a movie, view, covert or edit a CGM file, or build a presentation in one application. EasyCopy can now import AutoCAD files and convert them to any format it supports.
Ghostview and Ghostscript
Ghostview and ghostscript are postscript viewing programs.
GrabCaptureScreen
GrabCaptureScreen, developed by Boumchalak Software, is a great utility for documenting the output of your screen, and is easy to use. It has seven different modes as well as a completely automatic capturing setup. GrabCaptureScreen can save your captures in a variety of formats including JPEG and GIF image files.
Image Magic
ImageMagick is an image processing and display program. It can display an image on any workstation screen running an X server. It can read and write many popullar image formats.
Image Viewer
Use Image Viewer to view, edit, print and translate the file formats of images. It can also be used to capture images or windows off the workstation.
Microsoft PowerPoint
Microsoft PowerPoint is presentation software developed and distributed by Microsoft; it is part of the Microsoft Office Suite. PowerPoint allows you to create detailed and advanced slideshow presentations. This software has many advanced features such as the use of templates, inserting graphs and charts, use of layers, and more. PowerPoint is available on all the DECS PC Lab computers and can be installed by DECS on any machine for a minimal fee.
NCAR Graphics
NCAR Graphics, a time-tested UNIX package, consists mainly of over two dozen Fortran/C utilities for drawing contours, maps, vectors, streamlines, weather maps, surfaces, histograms, X/Y plots, annotations, and more.
Paint.net
