All College of Engineering faculty, staff, visiting scholars, and students may obtain an account for DECS computer systems.
Account Settings
What can I do when I log in?
Forwarding E-mail - allows you to send any e-mail addressed to your engineering account to another e-mail address.
Print Quota - reports how many pages you have printed in the DECS public labs during the current semester.
E-mail Alias' and Groups - Alias' are used to associate numerous e-mail addresses to a single alias and Groups are used for shared file space.
Resources & Benefits
What comes with my account?
EGR NetID
Enables access to EGR labs, e-mail, printing, and storage space. This should be the same as your MSU NetID.
Disk Space
200 MB for students, 1GB for faculty/staff
Print Quota
Black/white, single-sided or duplex printing available in public labs. 600 pages/account/semester. Plotter and color printing is available in 1325 EB.
Software Access
The Engineering labs contain A LOT of specialized and industry standard software packages.
E-mail
Fast, Convenient, Secure and Backed-up email.
Equipment Checkout
Laptops, video & still cameras, and projectors, are available for your use in 1325 EB.
