What is SODA?

SODA (Structural Optimization Design & Analysis) is a Windows-based program for the analysis, and optionally the design in steel, of two and three dimensional framed structures. The program is capable of second-order (P-Delta) analysis, and design according to AISC LRFD, AISC Allowable Stress or Canadian specifications It includes cross sectional databases for standard U.S. and Canadian steel shapes, and performs a minimum weight design. The user may control the design process in order to obtain a practical structural configuration. Formerly developed by Acronym Software, as of 2011, SODA can be found: http://www.sodaspace.ca/

The program is available for use in any PC lab run by the Division of Engineering Computing Services. Students may purchase the program for private use at a substantially discounted price by completing an order form available from the Civil and Environmental Engineering Academic Adviser in Room 3579 EB.

Where is SODA?

SODA is available on all DECS PC machines.
