Scan for Viruses

Anti-virus software can be used to identify, thwart and eliminate computer viruses and other malicious software using two approaches: scanning files to look for known viruses, and recognizing suspicious behavior through real-time auto-protection.

Most lab and office computers installed by DECS with Windows are configured to use the auto-protection software Symantec Endpoint Security which actively scans against computer viruses.

In the event that your DECS public lab profile becomes malware or virus infected, please alert the DECS Support Office in room 1325 Engineering Building. If you suspect your personal, office, research lab or other computer is virus infected, please contact DECS Support at 517-353-8891, or stop-by room 1325 in the Engineering Building.
