Checking Attachment Size:
- Outlook allows users to sort by message size. To do this, choose "Arranged By: Date" in the toolbar of the middle sub window. (image) Then select "Size" in the displayed menu. (image)
- Messages will now be sorted by size in descending order. To check the size of a single message, hold the mouse pointer over the message and a small info box will appear. The message size will be listed in the bottom of this box. (image) If a message is larger than 10MB its attachment should be saved to your M: drive; then the message should be deleted. Further instruction for this is available below.
- To delete messages with Outlook you must first mark them for deletion. First select the message you want to delete, then click the black X in the top toolbar. (image) After marking all the messages you wish to delete select "Edit" from the top menu and choose "Purge Deleted Messages" from the submenu. (image)
- Next, delete any other unwanted messages and move other messages to mailboxes other than "Inbox". These mailboxes are located on your M: drive. Please click the following link for further instructions.
Saving Attachments to M: drive:
