Outlook Express is installed on all Windows machines as part of Internet Explorer.
Initial Setup:
Outlook Express is found in "Start" → "All Programs".
Click on the Outlook Express icon to open the program then click on "Tools" → "Accounts". (image)
Click on the "Add" button then select "Mail".
Another window will pop up, type your name in the text box then click "Next". (image)
Enter your e-mail address then click "Next". (image)
Select IMAP as the incoming server, enter "mail.egr.msu.edu" for the incoming and outgoing mail servers, then click "Next". (image)
If you want Outlook Express to remember the password so you don't have to type it in every time you use the program, select the "Remember Password" box then click "Next". (image)
This will take you back to the Internet Accounts box, double click on "mail.egr.msu.edu".
Select the "Advanced" tab, for both incoming and outgoing servers check " This server requires a secure connection (SSL)". You will also need to manually change the "Outgoing mail(SMTP):" port number to 465. (image)
Select the "Servers" tab, check "My server requires authentication". (image)
Additional Subscriptions:
In Outlook Express, click on "Tools" and then "IMAP Folders..." (image)
Choose a folder to subscribe to (eg."Spam") and click on "Show". (image)
