In this tutorial, you'll learn how to insert a link in your Drupal webpage using the FCK or CK Editor. (Click on thumbnails for a larger view.)
First, find the page you wish to edit and click the "Edit" tab. (Note: You will have to be signed in to Drupal in order to do this).
After you've clicked the "Edit" tab, scroll down to the "Body" editing box. The editor should resemble the MS Word toolbar somewhat.
Highlight the text you wish to have a link added to.
Click the Insert/Edit Link button (A chain link with the Earth behind it). A popup should then appear titled, "Link."
To link to a website: simply type in the URL of a website, click OK. Skip to step 9.
To link to a file: click the "Browse Server" button for the FCK editor (1st left) and CK Editor (2nd).
Another new popup window should appear. In this popup window, click the "Upload" tab. (FCK editor (1st left) and CK Editor (2nd))
A file browser should drop down. Click the "Browse" button next to the file browser. (FCK editor (1st left) and CK Editor (2nd)).
Once you've found the file you want to attach, click the "Open" button. Then click "Upload."
The file should now appear in the "File Name" listing.
Finally, click on the "Send to FCK Editor" tab near the top right of the window.
Click "OK" in the Link popup.
The text you originally highlighted in the "Body" editing box should now be hyperlinked to the desired website or file. Scroll down and click the "Save" button.
Congratulations! You now know how to insert a link in Drupal using the Editor toolbar.
