Broadcasting Live Voice and Video in Adobe Connect

Before proceeding be sure that your Audio and Video are set up properly. Please visit our Camera and Microphone Setup in Adobe Connect page for further instruction.

Broadcasting live video and audio in Adobe Connect is very simple. To start broadcasting your voice and video follow the steps below:

Click on the "Start my camera and Voice" button in the lower left corner of the Camera and Voice pod.

A window may appear on the screen asking permission to give Adobe Connect access to your camera. Click "Allow".

You should now be able to see your camera broadcasting in the upper left side of the screen. When broadcasting, audio and video are sent to all users attending the meeting and your name will appear in the Camera and Voice pod.

To broadcast your voice you can either:

• Hold down the "Talk" button to speak. When you release this button, audio is no longer being broadcasted.

  

• You can also use the "Hands-Free" button (the lock icon). A little microphone will appear in front of your name in the pod. Using this option, you will continue to broadcast audio until you click on the "Talk" button again to release the hands-free feature. Once you do this, you will notice that the little microphone icon beside your name will dissappear.

   

When you speak during the meeting a green line will indicate levels of audio broadcasting.

By selecting "Camera Off" from the "Option" menu in the lower right corner of the Camera and Voice pod you will stop video broadcasts for everyone in the meeting. To turn all broadcasts back on, select one of the other options beneath "Camera Off". (view image)

Note that using "Camera Off" to stop broadcasting of video for everyone in the meeting does not affect the audio broadcasts. Even with microphones that are in the video camera, audio broadcasting continues.

To pause or resume broadcasting your video:

Click the "Camera" button in the Camera and Voice pod. The last image that was visible to meeting attendees will remain visible. Clicking the "Camera" button again will resume broadcast.

To stop broadcasting your video:

Click the "Stop my camera and voice" button in the lower left corner of the Camera and Voice pod. Your name, image, and all media control buttons will disappear from all attendees' pods.
