The CMSC is equipped with a Kamitsu model EKTW-C-FR fiber re-winder with programmable wind-ratio. This unit is designed to handle high-performance fibers at speeds of 0.1 to 1.5 m/min under user-controlled tension.

The re-winder has been coupled with other equipment to create treament lines capable of controlling fiber surface chemisty or coating with a sizing:
