Tips while working on Cambridge Engineering Selector (CES) project

 

  1. Path where CES located is: Start-> All Programs-> CES Selector 3.1 -> CES Selector
  2. After you invoke the program, few warning messages appear. Click OK to ignore them

 

 

 

  1. While invoking CES first time by your login, it may prompt for database. Click on the database which is displayed in the ‘open’ box.
  2. Before starting your work CHANGE the units:

Go to Tools -> Options

 

 

In General tab of ‘Options’, choose Preferred Unit System as ‘Metric’. Click OK.

 

  1. Important Icons:

 

New Graphical Stage: To begin a new graphical stage.

Box Selection: To make the random selection from bubble chart.

Stage Properties: Change the selection range as per given constraints.

 

  1. To view results after all the stages as to check how many materials passed through:

View -> Results

      To toggle back to project and stages: View->Project

 

  1. To check various properties of material: Double click on the material icon shown in Results list.
  2. Important note: Check ‘Warnings’ listed for each material before selecting it as the most suitable material.
