In the United States, 40% of energy used in the home is consumed by heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) devices.
The goal of our project is to design an energy-saving thermostat and universal thermostat interface plate. By using intelligent algorithms, our device will allow HVAC equipment to run less while maintaining a comfortable home environment.
If heating and cooling appliances were used just 1% less, the nation would save over $800 million per year!
