Apr. 14 -- Final instruction day -- discussion of final report, other deliverables, Design Day

            procedures, etc.

Apr. 16 -- Class is cancelled -- use this time to meet with your group, work on your

prototype, your final report, your poster, your final presentation, etc.

 Apr. 18 -- Class is cancelled -- use this time to meet with your group, work on your

prototype, your final report, your poster, your final presentation, etc.  See

Week 15

Apr. 21 -- Evaluation Day -- course evaluations (SIRS), evaluations of facilitators will be done in class;

departmental senior survey should have been completed on-line BEFORE class.

Apr. 23 -- No class -- Team final preparation day:  work on project

display/poster/oral presentation.  FINAL REPORTS DUE

ELECTRONICALLY AND PRINTED TODAY, as follows:

   To facilitator (electronic or printed, as they choose)

   To GOODMAN:  electronic (doc file) AND six printed copies

    in ECE Office, PRIOR to 4:30pm, for Goodman and judges to

    read.  Another printed copy (keep to turn into your sponsor at

    Design Day or for you to express to them no later than

    Monday, Apr. 28). 

 NOTE:  if your project is under a confidentiality agreement, the

 judges may not receive any material that is deemed confidential. 

That means you must REMOVE from four (judges’) copies all

detailed schematics, code, etc., that are viewed as confidential. 

Clearly mark these copies “JUDGE’S COPY” on the front.  

The copies for Goodman, the facilitator, and the sponsor should

be complete copies.

Final updates to web pages (videos, photos, results, and all other

non-confidential items) should be made by 6pm Wednesday, so

judges may examine them Wednesday/Thursday.  The two copies

of your POSTER (see instructions on main web page) are not

DUE until Design Day Friday morning, BUT you should be

printing them (in person at DECS office on 1st floor) Wednesday

or EARLY THURSDAY, as it takes a while to set up and print

each one, and to laminate it, and about FORTY teams

(ECE + ME) all need their posters printed for Friday morning. 

Don’t wait until 4pm on Thursday to print your poster!  Mounting

material available in ECE Shop.  Note:  Print quota additions for

poster printing and for printing multiple copies of final report will

be available if requested by Wednesday at noon.  Otherwise,

you’re on your own to pay for additional quota if needed.

FRIDAY, Apr. 25 -- Design Day, at MSU Union Building.

           Final oral presentations, demonstrations of projects, poster 

displays, grading/judging by instructor, facilitators, judges for

Prism VentureWorks Prize, answering questions for fellow students,

general public.  Detailed schedule to be announced. 

Food/beverages (subs or pizza) available for participants.  Prizes

announced at award ceremony in Union Ballroom, 1:15pm. 

Most 400-level ECE classes cancelled through 3:00; plan to spend

the day.  Each student attends at least 2 presentations besides own,

spend rest of time near poster. 

 

Notebooks due to facilitator by 4pm, all other materials to goodman (or ECE Shop, if returning materials). May turn in CDROMs, and notebooks at ECE Office, labeled for Goodman (CDROMs) or your facilitator (notebook), if desired.

 

Final Exam Week

No later than noon, Wednesday, April 30, you must have cleaned out your lockers, turned in all parts and project materials not going to sponsor, sent your report and CD to your sponsor, and had the ECE Shop sign off on the form indicating completion, or grade will be reduced.

 

All students attend all lectures (except by prior arrangement/valid university excuse).
