There is wisdom in teaming. Some projects -- like developing, managing, and teaching this course -- require teamwork rather than relying on efforts of an individual. This is so for any number of reasons; for example, time constraints, the need for a diverse set of skills, and the need for a diverse set of backgrounds and perspectives to deal effectively with complex issues. For all of these same reasons, students in this course will work as a team to solve a complex, multi-disciplinary design problem. But effective teaming requires a shared vision, shared responsibilities, interdependence (not dependence!), and mutual trust. The members of this course's instructional team—the faculty, technicians and teaching assistant—are here to help students achieve the course learning objectives and to demonstrate effective teamwork in action.
