Mathematical modeling of fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and combustion problems. Develop numerical methods and codes that can be used to study complex steady and unsteady, multidimensional fluid flow problems that can be laminar or turbulent, reacting or nonreacting, single- or multi-phase

Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Computational Aeroacoustics (CAA) and Computational Electromagnetics (CEM); Geometry modeling and grid generation, viscous adaptive Cartesian grid methods; Overset (Chimera) grid methods, conservative Chimera; Parallel computing on distributed memory architectures; Combustion, spray and turbulence modeling and simulation for auto engine flow problems;
Control of incylinder flow, and combustion phenomena in internal combustion engines, laser based experimental techniques and numeric simulations. Development of advanced tribology control systems using numerical simulations and micro-machining. Development of advanced thermoelectric power modules.

Hybrid atomistic-continuum multi-scale methods: contact line motion; Transport phenomena in microfluidic systems: slip boundary conditions; Liquid crystals (surface anchoring, topological defects, phase ordering.
