CEE undergraduates Corbin St. Aubin, Adam Beach, Christine Pageau and Katie Paluch participated in the 2011 GeoChallenge competition on March 13-16 in Dallas, Texas. They were accompanied by faculty adviser, Milind Khire.

The purpose of this event was for the team to design and build a scale model mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) wall inside a plywood form, using sand with paper reinforcement affixed to a poster board wall facing. Based on design paper scoring, the top 16 teams were invited to compete at ASCE Geo-Institute's Geo-Frontiers 2011 in Dallas, Texas.
