Project title: Dynamic modeling of cAMP induced cell fate decision in Mesenchymal Stem Cells

Project Description: Cell fate decision plays a central role in biological regulations.Tightly controlled by the whole gene network, cells make vital decisions between life and death, growth and division, self-renewal and differentiation, to achieve balance in biological system, which is critical in eukaryotic development, immune system homeostasis and control of tumorigenesis. Studying the mechanisms that control these decisions can enhance our understanding of biological regulation, and provide clues to novel drug targets for the diseases in which cell fate goes awry. In this project we use the cAMP induced cell fate decision in Mesenchymal Stem Cells as a model system to demonstrate how mechanistic mathematical modeling can help to identify pathways involved in cell fate decision.
