Torque Measurement Project

In conjunction with the Human Factors and Medical Packaging Group, we are developing equipment and methods to quantify the amount of torque generated by various users.  Studies have shown a relationship between the size of a person's hand and the amount of torque they can apply.  These studies were conducted on a single size jar and closure.  Our research will determine if correlations exist between the size of a person's hand, the diameter of a closure, and the amount of torque generated by the consumer at the closure.
