Ajit Srivastava, Chair, Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering, to co-lead Global Center for Food System Innovation (GCFSI). The GCFSI, a USAID Higher Education Solutions Network (HESN) Development Lab, made possible by a $25 million grant, will focus on transformation in the global food systems needed to respond to population growth, climate change and urbanization. The HESN will help USAID launch a new era in development by harnessing the expertise and innovation of the faculty and students of the higher education system. The other members of the network include MIT, University of California, Berkley, Duke University, College of William and Mary, Texas A&M University, and Makerere University, Uganda.
