Dear Colleague,

The overwhelming success of the NSF workshop of October 16-19, 2004, speaks very strongly for the need for this type of activity.  As part of our follow-up to the workshop, we have established a web-based Center for Development of Minority Faculty in Engineering, which will be maintained at Michigan State University under my guidance.  The goal of the Center is to provide a resource base for the minority community.  The site will provide information on past and upcoming workshops, faculty job openings, research opportunities and possibilities for collaboration, a chat room, a best practices forum, a mechanism that colleagues can use for pre-submission review of research proposal outlines and content, a mentoring clearing house, etc.  The Center is still very much in its initial developing stages, so I welcome your input, comments, etc.  Please help make this a meaningful resource for everyone.  Thank you.
