MTU Career Exploration Program AIChE Scholarship

(The deadline for applications was March 18, 2004. A new scholarship will be awarded in the next calendar year.)

For the nineteenth year in 2004, the Mid-Michigan section of AIChE was pleased to offer an exciting scholarship opportunity to students in the Tri-Cities area.  The scholarship covered room, board, tuition, and a $100 travel allotment for a one-week session at the Michigan Technological University (MTU) Summer Youth Program.

Program Description:  The Summer Youth Program is a one-week program at the MTU campus, which gives students an opportunity to explore careers and develop skills.  The students will participate in laboratory, classroom and field experiences in a selected career area.  This scholarshipcovers sessions in various disciplines of engineering, science, and computers.  For details of the SYP, please visit their website at http://youthprograms.mtu.edu.  This scholarship is specific to the Summer Youth Program and is limited to explorations in engineering, science, math, and computers.

Eligibility:  Geographically, the pool of applicants will include the same general area represented by the mid-Michigan chapter of AIChE.  Area students currently in grades 9-11 and who have not received this Summer Youth Program Scholarship in the past are eligible to apply.  A maximum of three students will be awarded scholarships.
