Stacy Steinhauer

2007-2008 Vice President, Publicity

I am from Lansing, Michigan and graduated from J.W. Sexton High School.  After graduation I attended Lansing Community College for five semesters and got my associates in chemistry, engineering, and chemical technology.  I then transferred here to MSU in the spring of 2006, where I started in the chemical engineering program.  I will graduate (hopefully) in May of 2008.

I chose chemical engineering for one reason; scholarship.  I was awarded a full-ride scholarship my junior year of high school to go to LCC and MSU.  The catch was that I had to go into and engineering field.  That wasn't a problem for me since I enjoy the sciences.  I chose chemical engineering because chemistry was my favorite course in high school and I dread anything physics related.  I haven't decided what exactly I want to do after I graduate.  I definitely want a job, but not sure with what kind of comapany.

I currently work at the National Superconducting Cyclotron Laboratory (NSCL) here at MSU, where I am a student assistant in the SRF group.  I have worked there since January 2007, and plan to stay there through graduation.

I am the VP of Publicity in AIChE.  What I do is keep the website updated and make sure that all of the members of AIChE know about the meetings and events we have.  If you have any questions, feel free to contact me or find me in one of the computer labs here in the EB.
