Dave Lenhert
My name is David Lehnert and I am one of the three symposium day chair members of AICHE. I grew up and graduated in Portland Michigan as a part of the class of 2004. For my first year of college, I went to Ferris State University to study chemistry. At that time, I found my interest and talent in rudimental drumming. I was inspired by how good the Michigan State Spartan Drum Line was and decided to transfer to MSU and audition for their Drum Line. After getting the last cut at auditions, I moved on and found other interests as well as changing my major to Chemical Engineering. The curriculum has given me great career opportunities. I previously interned for Dr. Barton’s research group, Freeport McMoran copper and gold, and NASA. I feel that both Chemical Engineering and AICHE is a great major and organization to be a part of. I have made many friends and acquaintances through my experiences in this curriculum as well as taking leadership roles in this student organization. My personal hobbies include playing the drum set, ultimate Frisbee, scrabble, watching movies, and playing Super Mario videogames. |
