Welcome to the Department of Biosystems
& Agricultural Engineering at Michigan
State University. I invite you to take a scenic
tour of the department via this web page and its links. As you tour,
remember that this is one of the oldest and highest ranked departments
of its kind in the United States. The undergraduate engineering program
has been changed (Fall, 1995) to Biosystems Engineering (BE) and now
is home to more than 100 students. There are graduate programs in BE. We also have
a two year program in Electrical Technology leading to Journeyman and
Master Electrician certification. In all, there are about 250 students
in total in the various programs, but don't think that means you will
be a number. We take pride in knowing every student by his/her name,
and we try to keep in contact with all our graduates.
In addition to the academic programs housed in the department, we also
have extension faculty through Michigan State University Extension (MSUE)
and research faculty through the Michigan Agricultural Experiment Station
(MAES). Located within Farrall Hall is the Crop and Food Bioprocessing
Center.
We are always looking for
internship and employment opportunities for our students, and if
you have an opening for one, please let us know. We're proud of the
quality of our programs and our students and think you could benefit
from employing them.
If you have suggestions or comments on the home page, let us know.
