| Dr. Chris Saffron received the MSU College of Engineering 2010 Withrow Teaching Excellence Award |

Jon Althouse was awarded the Honorary American FFA Degree in recognition of outstanding contributions made to youth through agricultural education and FFA. Mr. Althouse was recognized for leadership in developing a 9-week hands-on electrification education program that was delivered to several Ariscience programs in Michigan. The Honorary American FFA Degree is the highest award given by the FFA. |

BAE Students Receive Prestigious Awards |

Two BAE students received highly acclaimed awards in 2009. Michael Anderson received a SMART (Science, Mathematics, and Research for Transformation) scholarship from the Department of Defense to pursue a Ph.D. degree in Biosystems Engineering at MSU. Hanna Miller received one of the prestigious U.S. Department of Homeland Security Scholarships. Both students work in the Biosensors Lab with Dr. Vangie Alocilja.
