Michigan RadioOne of the downsides of a world powered by the internal combustion engine is the exhaust fumes. In fact, they’re a sign that a majority of the energy being produced is actually being wasted. But now, scientists are working on a process that would recapture some of that lost energy and convert the exhaust fumes into more energy. Which, in turn, could actually save gas, says Timothy Hogan, associate professor of electrical and computer engineering at Michigan State University.
