In the Spring of 1996, the Radcliffe family started the construction of a 1400 sq.ft. cabin in Duna Vista Estates just North of Pentwater, Michigan on the Lake Michigan Shore. The log home was designed by Clark and Arlene Radcliffe after much consultation with their children Nate (boy, 19), Isa (girl, 15) and Eliott (boy,11).  Northern Land and Lumber of Escanaba, Michigan turned these plans to blueprints and then supplied the materials for the new log home. These materials includes logs for the walls, log roof trusses and decking, porch posts, joists and decking, log siding, as well as the pine 2nd floor structure.

The construction schedule to date has included:

May 1996: Foundation installed by subcontractors
June 1996: 1st floor deck and porch constucted
July 1996: Log Delivery received by BIG truck from Northern land and Lumber
August 1996: Log walls assembled
August 24, 1996: Roof trusses installed
September 1996: Roof installed by subcontractor
Winter-Spring 1997: Second floor installed
Spring-Summer 1997: 1st-2nd floor stairs installed
June 1997: Well installed
July 1997: Septic System Installed
August 1997: Rear Windows and Exterior Siding
Summer 1998: Added Front and Side Porches
Spring, Summer, & Fall 1999: Worked on Inside Finishing
