Turkey is a Eurasian country that stretches across the Anatolian peninsula (in western Asia) and southeastern Europe. Turkey is a democratic, secular, unitary, constitutional republic with an ancient cultural heritage. Turks have a great cuisine, infamous baths, spectacular beaches and natural sites, rich traditions associated with tea and coffee, evil eye pendants, high quality towels and bathrobes, traditional rugs, whirling dervishes, nargile (Turkish water pipe) and (of course) Turkish delight. Students can get engaged in a variety of activities in Turkey including river rafting, skiing, scuba diving, cruising and hot air ballooning. Turkey lies on the ruins of many civilizations including Hittites, Trojans, Greeks, Romans, Byzantine Empire, Seljuks and Ottomans. Students can travel thousands of years back in time at the historical sites, or enjoy the works of nature.

The students will take classes at Anadolu University in Eskişehir, which is the fourth largest university in the world by enrollment. All engineering programs at Anadolu University are accredited by MUDEK, a non-governmental, independent Turkish engineering accreditation organization. MUDEK criteria for accreditation closely follow ABET EC2000 Criteria. MUDEK is a partner of the European Accreditation Programme for Engineering. Several engineering faculty at Anadolu University have received doctoral or postdoctoral training in the US or European countries. Numerous students from European universities take engineering courses at Anadolu University as part of the Erasmus exchange program.
