Soil Contaminants

Soil contamination is either solid or liquid hazardous substances mixed with the naturally occuring soil. Usually, contaminants in the soil are physically or chemically attached to soil particles or are trapped in the small spaces between soil particle. Common soil contaminants include arsenic, benzene, cyanide, lead and dioxin.

Below is a comprehensive list of soil pollutants. Click on the soil pollutant name for information on environmental occurrence, exposure, carcinogenic probability and federal regulations on the contaminant.
